Privacy Policy
DRAFT — not yet reviewed by legal counsel. The GDPR/international-transfer section in particular needs real legal review before this is relied on. Do not treat as final.
1. What we collect
- Account information: email address (via magic-link signup).
- Billing information: handled entirely by Stripe — we do not store your card details.
- Service data: the trademark terms you choose to watch, and the alert history generated for your account.
- Basic usage/log data for security and debugging.
2. How we use it
To operate the service (running your weekly scans, sending your digest emails), process payments, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your data.
3. Who we share it with
- Stripe — payment processing.
- [Email provider] — delivering your digest emails.
- [Trademark data vendor] — to run the scans you've requested. The terms you ask us to watch are sent to this vendor to perform the search; this is necessary for the service to function.
4. Data retention
We retain your account and watch history for as long as your account is active, and for [X months] after cancellation in case you resubscribe, after which it's deleted on request.
5. Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting [email]. If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. International data transfer
ClearTM is operated from India. If you are located in the EU/UK, your data will be transferred outside the EU/UK to be processed.
Open item: for a non-EU company processing EU residents' personal data at real scale, GDPR can require appointing an EU-based representative (Article 27) and a formal transfer mechanism — not just this paragraph. Low-stakes while this is just a waitlist email; must be resolved with real legal advice before the paid product processes EU customers' subscription and watch data.
